I am blessed. I am a mother of three boys and one girl, and I am a wife to a devoted husband. Before becoming either of those, I became a photographer. I feel so lucky to have the knowledge to capture our life together through time and document our love, laughs and stages. I am truly honored to capture it for other families as well. I have been through my own wedding and experiencing motherhood. I appreciate how important it is to savor every moment as it happens. Fortunately, I can do that with my camera. My passion is lifestyle photography - capturing those candid moments.
How did it all begin? After leaving college at Texas A&M University in 2000, I moved to the Boston area for a job. Soon after, I lost a small bag complete with my camera equipment and had no idea where I left it. The only contact information in that bag was Boston area photographer business card. A kind lady had given me his contact information while I was photographing a friend's wedding. I was doing a favor with no experience, and this lady wanted me to contact this photographer incase I was interested in becoming an apprectice for him. I never read the card when I placed it in my bag; I didn't have the guts to call a "real photographer" and show him my work. After two weeks of pouting without my equipment, I decided to start calling random photographers from the phonebook. The third call I made was a success! A 14 year old boy had found my equipment in a pizza place and used the business card in the bag. The business card belonged to Phil Nowlan, and after speaking to him for a few minutes, I realized I had to meet him. I look back at that moment and realize it was fate. I started working for Phil and his studio exclusively photographing weddings for several years. During those weddings, I discovered my passion for children's photography. I found myself watching the kids running around during the event and adored capturing those candid expressions that seemed so pure and natural.
In 2004 I met my husband, Anthony, photographing a wedding; he was a groomsman. From that wedding, I formed amazing friendships and found the love of my life. Five years later, we were married and had three boys - older brother, Ray and twins, Sammy and Teddy. We left New England to raise the boys in Texas back in October 2010. I spent a decade in New England - the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I miss our friends, family and my clients up north dearly. I could write pages on my experiences that shaped who I am today. Texas is home again and family is priority. In 2015 our baby girl, Krysta Claire, arrived home on Easter Day. In between those amazing days I get to spend at home with my children, I continue to capture those moments for other families. As I said before.... I am blessed.
